Our Redeemer Lives

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5

This week, I’ve been learning the power of making a conscious choice each day: the choice to follow Christ. It’s easy to drift into a rhythm of simply identifying as a Christian, saying, “I believe,” yet never pausing to ask, “Am I choosing Him today?”

When I began asking myself this question each morning, something shifted. It wasn’t just about believing in Jesus but about walking with Him through my thoughts, words, and actions. This simple choice has helped me define in small but meaningful ways what it looks like to live out my faith each day. For me, it looked like brainstorming ways to serve my community, exploring how different communities are creating positive change and how I could help, and choosing kindness even when it’s difficult.

I know our Redeemer lives because despite the pain and suffering we see in this world, good still endures. His love reaches us not just to save us, but to shape us so that we can be stewards and serve others just as He did. Just as He has redeemed us, we are called to extend that same love to others. Out of this overflowing mercy, we are called to be vessels of hope, bringing compassion, care, and action to those around us.

A Reminder

When we open our hearts to Him, God moves in and through our lives in ways we can’t always predict. Our choices, our actions, and our willingness to serve become instruments of His love, restoring hope in a world that desperately needs it.

An Invitation for You

What might a conscious choice to follow Christ look like in your life today?

  • Could it be a prayer before you step into work?

  • Could it be extending forgiveness where it’s hard?

  • Could it be reaching out to someone who feels unseen?

  • Could it be serving someone in need, even in a small way?

Take a moment to pause and ask yourself: Today, how will I choose Christ?

Your Redeemer lives, and He desires to live through you.
